Opening Line Moves

Lots of action in the early part of the week has been moving lines both north and south. Let's check out some of these opening-line moves.
The Patriots opened up as a 14-point favorite, and bettors quickly bet them up to 14 ½. Action on the total also moved the line from 46 ½ down to 43, propelled by the Pats super D, and Saquon is not so super injured ankle ruling him out.
Patrick Mahomes’ ankle and a rather subpar effort on Sunday night spooked bettors on the Chiefs and moved them from an 8 ½ point favorite over the high octane Texans to 5 ½.
The Ravens going into Heinz Field and beating a mediocre Steelers team lit up players' eyes and they moved from an 8 ½ point favorite to 11 ½ point favorite over the woeful Bengals.
An impressive road victory over by the Broncos over the charge-less Chargers was impressive to punters as a surge of dollars jacked the line on their tilt with the Titans from -1 to 2 ½.
Perhaps not all of these opening line moves are related to teams' performance. There must have been a lot of Jay Gruden fans out there as the awful Redskins fell from a 6 ½ point fave to a 3 ½ point favorite over the equally woeful Dolphins.
The big mover on the total side of Sunday's card proved the Arizona/Atlanta tilt, which opened up at 47 and quickly jetted up to 52 on a flood of early money.
