Lucas Giolito - Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins

It was a rough start to the week with me going 1-3 with my recommendations Monday. My record for the MLB season now stands at 54-25-1. I’ll look to bounce back with four more wagers – two for the Chicago White Sox and two for the New York Yankees – that look very appealing Wednesday. All odds were obtained from the BetMGM Sportsbook.

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins: White Sox ML (-152)

The White Sox are hot right now. They have won six straight games and 10 of their last 11 contests, overall. Their only defeat during that stretch was a one-run loss against the Pirates. They have taken the first two games of this series against the Twins. And it’s notable that these games are being played in Chicago. The White Sox are 16-9 at home this MLB season while the Twins are an ugly 9-15 on the road.

Not only do the White Sox have home field working in their favor, but they also have a significant edge in starting pitchers for this contest. They will have their ace Lucas Giolito on the mound. He is once again having a strong campaign with a 3.43 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. Meanwhile, the Twins will start Jake Odorizzi, who will be activated from the IL to make his first start in nearly a month. He didn’t pitch well in three outings before going down with an injury, allowing nine runs across 10 innings.

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins: White Sox Over 4.5 Runs (-106)

What’s even more alarming about Odorizzi’s poor performance in his first three starts is that each of them came against the Royals. That’s the same Royals team that has the eighth-worst OPS (.714) in baseball. Meanwhile, the White Sox have a .811 OPS, which includes a .828 OPS at home. With how hot they are right now, look for the White Sox to hit the over here.

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays: Yankees ML (-275)

For a while there, it looked like the Yankees were going to have to fight just to make it into the playoffs. However, they have rebounded from a rough stretch to win each of their last six games. All six of those contests came against either the Orioles or Blue Jays, two teams that they have been fighting with for a playoff spot. It’s important to note that five of those wins came at Yankee Stadium, where they are 19-7 this MLB season. By contrast, they are only 8-14 on the road.

The Yankees will look to keep their win streak going with their ace Gerrit Cole on the mound. He might be having an off-season by his standards. But it’s hard to complain about a guy with a 3.20 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 33.2 percent strikeout rate. Starting for the Blue Jays will be the struggling Tanner Roark, who enters with a 5.60 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP. This has all the makings of another big win for the Yankees against their AL East foes.

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays: Yankees Over 5.5 Runs (+114)

Since the moneyline odds aren’t exactly mouthwatering, let’s stay on this game and try to win another wager at plus odds. The Yankees received both Giancarlo Stanton and Gio Urshela back from the IL on Tuesday, a game in which they exploded for 20 runs. Even though Aaron Judge is still on the IL and Gleyber Torres is day-to-day with a quadriceps injury, getting Stanton and Urshela back is huge. Add in how poorly Roark has pitched, and the Yankees could score in bunches here.
