Zach’s Season Record: 49-36

Rolling through my Thursday last week, and I was flirting with a perfect day like I was A-Rod and my picks were Madison LeCroy. Of course, J. Lo didn’t break up with me, I don’t own a $35 million mansion in Miami, and I have never taken steroids. But even if I DID take steroids, my picks would probably still be pretty good… just way angrier.

Sunday NBA games are made for hangovers, and I’m chasing W’s tonight like Generation X is chasing extra Moderna vaccines… That being said, I have gone 9-3 in my last three columns, so I’m kinda making that cash money. Today’s games are TOUGH to decipher though, with so few big spreads and evenly matched teams, but I think these two games should be your easiest way to making some dollars and stocking up on green beer for St. Patrick’s Day.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Minnesota Timberwolves: Portland -5 (-110)

Point Total: Over 234 (-110)

These teams are meeting for the second day in a row. On Saturday, Portland barely won by 4. Now they go back-to-back like they did on the cover of Lethal Weapon (thanks Drake for that one). Obviously, Dame-Time and company are still missing CJ McCollum, but I think they can beat the Timberwolves by more than 5 tonight. Mainly because the Timberwolves don’t seem to come back as strong on back-to-back nights… Although, KAT seemed back in form with 34 last night. I’d still take Dame and Melo here – Dame wasn’t shooting very well Saturday, and he’ll get back to form here.

Point-wise, like on Saturday, look for them to stay hot. These teams combined for 246 on Saturday. And like I said, Lillard shouldn’t only be going 7-19 from the floor. I don’t know, however, if I can trust back-to-back Dame and Melo and Towns. Maybe I should go with the under here… NAH – Saturday’s game lacked defense. Tonight won’t be much different. Take the over.

Utah Jazz @ Golden State Warriors: Utah -5 (-155)

Point Total: Over 230 (-155)

After a day off, the Jazz are 24-8 this season. Saturday was a day off. The Utah Jazz are continuing its impressive march under Quin Snyder, and even though they are entering the Golden State Warriors' gym, Steph and company just don’t have enough players to battle with Gobert’s size. Wiseman is a fun and exciting rookie, but he missed a COVID test and spent the first half on the bench on Friday. Oh, he also can’t guard Rudy, who will lock Draymond and Wiseman down like he was the country of Italy. (Please be safe, my Italian brothers and sisters) . For the record, I hate 5-point spreads. Look for Utah to keep their well-rested victory streak alive with a dub against the Dubs. I say Utah by 10.

I always take overs in Golden State. There’s just something about the rims that make shots fall easier. Both of these teams like scoring, and I see 230 as an easy target number. And post-All-Star overs are HOT right now. Sort of like Madison LeCroy! (Whoever the hell that is.) By the way, A-Rod… you got dumped for sliding into the DMs? Dude – you successfully hid your steroid use for a decade before you got caught, you couldn’t do better? Damn, son. Rookie move.

Happy betting, friends!
