A 2-2 night in the play-in tourney games yesterday makes me think that this NBA season is still about as confusing as why everybody keeps telling me that Ted Lasso is the best show on TV. I’m sorry, but am I missing something? I love the cast, but why are people tweeting at me to say this is the best sports comedy ever? Anybody ever see Little Big League? (For the record Gary Busey once told me he ACTUALLY played for the Chicago Cubs at one point.) That’s a long story. Follow my podcast career for more… Anyway, for all 4 teams, tonight could prove to be as disastrous as a tweet from that cyber-bully Chrissy Teigen. We have the incomparable Steph Curry and his mic-drop Warriors battling defending champs LeBron and AD. We also have DeMar and the Spurs going at Ja and the Grizzlies earlier for a chance to advance and then lose to whoever they might play in the next round. Okay – I was wrong last night to think that Tatum would crumble to Russ so easily (50-piece!). But I’ve also watched Tatum screw me over more than Tristan Thompson screwed over Khloé Kardashian this season, so I was sick of giving him the benefit of the doubt. I guess Tatum is better without Jaylen Brown taking away half his points. But tonight we have teams battling to win to be a 7th seed – or lose to fight one more game to be an 8th seed. Nobody is sure yet about how they feel about this whole structure. It is kind of like me and Ted Lasso. I keep ditching the show, and yet, want to go back. It’s like nicotine. But worse. Anybody got any Parliament Lights?

Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Lakers: Los Angeles Lakers -5 (+125)

Point Total: Over 219.5 (+105)

This matchup needs seven games ALONE. The Lakers were cruising to the one seed before Davis and LeBron went down and their fate led them here. That has to sting, and I think they’re not about to back down from the Chef and his impossible MVP-like season. Whatever happens, tonight we are going to watch greatness with this matchup of former and (possibly current) MVPs. (Even LeBron said Steph Curry was his MVP of the NBA this season, and I’m now leaning that way too). So who to take? Steph and the Golden State Warriors or LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers? I HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA. I want 7 games of this, not one. HOWEVER, in a one-game playoff, I just think the Lakers are angry. Without Wiseman and Klay, the Warriors may have had their best game of the season. I MAY BE WRONG, but it is VERY. HARD. TO. BET. AGAINST. LEBRON. The Lakers aren’t done. Especially with the home teams winning 85% of game sevens since this whole stat cast bullshit began. Points-wise – Can these teams score 220? Yes. LeBron will have 30, Steph will have 42, AD will have 27, and Talen Horton-Tucker, my pre-season MVP, will add 14. BET THE OVER. William Hill RF500 - 728x90

San Antonio Spurs @ Memphis Grizzlies: Memphis -4 (-110)

Point Total: Over 222 (-118)

The struggling Spurs (1-4 in their last 5 games) have been all but forgotten about this season – even though they did take down some pretty good teams on many occasions. Coach Popovich is still one of the best minds in the game, and if anybody can get a team to take down the Memphis Grizzlies – who are favored by 4 tonight – then it's Pop. But I dunno. Ja Morant is out to prove himself and take on the aging DeRozan in a big game, and he has certainly eaten well against the Spurs all year long (25.3 PPG and 9.3 APG). I would take the Grizzlies here 222 points? SURE. Go with the over here. I fully expected more defensive pressure in the two games I saw last night, but it seems like this season’s defensive aptitude will continue on during the playoffs. Don’t expect MUCH more, but a 225-230 game is fully doable. I wanna see Ja Morant score 45. OMG. It seems like these games are NBA Finals games and I’m actually excited! Round up your money and follow yer boy Zach to some wins. Just don’t use a Ted Lasso. PointsBet - Deposit Bonus Up to $250
