Damn, how LIT was Phoenix on Monday? Chris Paul has NEVER been on a team with this much determination and talent. And the Phoenix Suns are certainly my fan favorite pick to go to the Western Conference Finals after embarrassing Jokić, Denver, and MY PICK for the Denver Nuggets to win Game 1. Look, Phoenix’s home-court advantage is going to be massive in this series as the Valley hasn’t had much to cheer for since Amar'e and Nash were running the show. I’m excited for Game 2, and this season’s Suns are the best things to come out of Phoenix since Stevie Nicks. Players only love you when they’re playing, man. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant once again looked like the all-galaxy player that he is while shaking up the Milwaukee Bucks, who suddenly look very anemic and soft against the Nets. And then he called out ESPN’s Jay Williams for inventing some Giannis story? I have other theories here. But later. KD is one of the most hated players in the league. His departure to Golden State, his Draymond drama, and his shunning of the Knicks for the Nets put him on some villain plateau. If the Nets don’t win it all, he has a lot to answer for, which is why I think this series ends 4-0 or 4-1. The Jazz and Suns are gonna meet in the Western Conference Finals. After what I saw last night, they're the same team and they share the coolest uniforms in the league. Finally, with only one game tonight, I’m throwing prop bets all around, and I’m gonna hit 4-0 and make all my money back from picking the Bucks on Monday night. Here we go…
Denver Nuggets @ Phoenix Suns: Phoenix -5.5 (+100)
Point Total: Over 223 (-121)
Booker didn’t even NEED to be himself in their drubbing of the Nuggets Monday, because Bridges, Crowder, and Ayton all played their best ball of the season. So did the Cams (Payne and Johnson). And that DUNK from Torrey Craig had me crying watching the Suns fans go LOCO in the crowd. Feels good to have a winning team for once, huh Phoenix? Well, that feeling will continue tonight. I’m not sure what Denver can throw at Phoenix that they didn’t see coming Monday. Jokić is incredible, and Porter Jr. shot poorly, but Phoenix has too much balance right now. CP3, Book, Ayton, Payne, Johnson, Crowder, Bridges… these guys are really, really stacked and fun. And I don’t think Denver can steal a game in the Valley of the Sun today. I’m taking Phoenix again. Points-wise – I nailed the OVER Monday, and with 223, I’ll take it again. I liked the pace, and with a 3.2-second average between Deandre Ayton grabbing a rebound and a Suns shot attempt, that is up-tempo basketball. The only way the Nuggets get a W here is if they slow it down to their speed… which is about 65% of an average team. Still, they will score, but Phoenix is going up 2-0 heading to the Mile High.Prop Bets!
Take a Double-Double for Ayton (No-brainer, -115) and take a TRIPLE-DOUBLE for Jokić (+575). Also, bet on Phoenix to hit 10+ three-pointers and possibly drop 15 points on CP3 (-125). If you can parlay all of that together, you can win enough money to buy yourself a nine-bedroom house in Mesa, Arizona.
