NFL 2021 Futures Betting: NFC East Division

970x90 BetMGM Sportsbook - Article - Risk-Free Bet $600 Just a week after I posted the NFC North article, the Packers line is already on the move. This just goes to show you how important it is to lock in any potential value you spot right away. This week, we will discuss the NFC East Division, and if you paid attention, you know how much of a dumpster fire this division was last year. Not one team finished above .500. Before we start dissecting each NFL team’s chances of winning the division, let’s see how these teams finished last season:

Dallas Cowboys: 6-10

Washington Football Team: 7-9

New York Giants: 6-10

Philadelphia Eagles: 4-11

The following lines for these division futures bets will be pulled from William Hill unless noted otherwise.

Cowboys Odds to Win the NFC East Division: +105

When Dak’s ankle snapped like a twig in week five, it was all but over for the Cowboys. The team wasn’t the same with Andy Dalton under center. Zeke had one of the worst years, as each team they faced had the same strategy – stack the box and dare the Red Rifle to make plays. The good news: despite only playing five games, Jerry Jones saw enough to ink Prescott into a massive six-year contract worth $240 million. Prescott has recently reassured his fans that his ankle is fully healthy and he’s ready to get back to work. The Cowboys have a ton of weapons on offense. Zeke, Lamb, and Cooper are all studs, and even their unknown tight ends showed promise last year. With a healthy Dak, these weapons, and that offensive line – they should definitely improve from last year’s record.

Is There Any Value?

The Cowboys are the favorite to take down this division and rightfully so. At plus odds with this offense, there’s definitely some value here. With Dak back behind center, Zeke should return to his all-pro form and have much more room to run. I like throwing a couple of units on the Cowboys at these odds; they have a ton of upside.

Washington Football Team Odds to Win the NFC East Division: +275

Another year and another team for Ryan Fitzpatrick. I love the addition of him to this roster. The Washington Football Team has a ton of young talent, and I could see this team making a splash now and especially once they find their franchise quarterback. Terry McLaurin is an every-down threat and can burn defensives in a blink of an eye. It’s going to be magical watching Fitz-magic sling the rock down the field to him. Antonio Gibson looks like a promising three-down back and should continue to improve going forward. Despite the starting quarterback being 38 years old, this offense is going to be explosive next season – mark my words. Another positive is that Washington’s defense was a top-five defense last year. If they pick up where they left off – watch out NFC East.

Is There Any Value?

Yes. But wait. Most sportsbooks have division winner lines up throughout the year. I think this Washington team can be a valuable dark horse, but only at the right price. If they fall to 0-2 to start the season and their odds shoot up to +500, hammer it. Like I said, I love the upside, and who doesn’t like rooting for Fitzpatrick? William Hill RF500 - 728x90

Giants Odds to Win the NFC East Division: +450

Danny Dimes got a serious upgrade to his playmakers in the off-season. Not only is Saquon Barkley going to be healthy coming off that ankle injury, but they also added a much-needed receiver in Kadarius Toney. This offense has a nice mix of veteran and young players that should challenge the other teams in this division. If Barkley can stay healthy, Evan Engram learns how to catch the ball, and Daniel Jones doesn’t trip over his legs while he’s galloping down the field all by himself – they have a shot to win this division.

Is There Any Value?

This roster has some big names on it. Well, one name – Saquon Barkley. Unless Toney breaks out in his rookie year, this team lives and dies at the running back position. It’s probably obvious, but I’m not a believer in Jones yet. He had his moments last year but also showed some serious issues in the pocket. In order to win this division, everything is going to need to break perfectly for them. I just don’t see it happening.

Eagles Odds to Win the NFC East Division: +500

This is an interesting roster. It’s loaded with talent, but those same players are young. Jalen Hurts looked pretty good when playing last year. His mobility and arm strength were on full display, but so was his cluster of interceptions. Miles Sanders is one of my favorite running backs. Honestly, I’m not afraid to claim him as being one of the top five running backs in the league right now. His pass-catching skills are going to make life much easier for Hurts, giving him a safety blanket for check downs. The Eagles made a couple of much-needed moves this offseason. The biggest area to address was the lack of receivers. The addition of Devonta Smith could be huge for Hurts and the overall synergy of the team. However, Ertz just received permission to seek a trade, and if he does leave Philadelphia, that would be a huge blow to this offense.

Is There Any Value?

Not this year. This team is going to be a force to reckon with down the road but not at this moment. The offense is just too young, and the defense is a liability. Sure at these odds, you wouldn’t have to wager much to see a nice return, but I wouldn’t be very optimistic. The NFC East may seem wide open, but rub your eyes and look again. The lines tied to a couple of these odds may be tempting, but don’t fall for them. If you are going to take a shot, go with Dallas or Washington. These two teams have what it takes to control the division and win now. If you can’t get enough sports gambling content, follow us on Twitter for weekly picks and other great articles.
