Anthony’s Season Record 6-3

It’s basically the quarter mark of the NFL season. Time flies when you're watching football and cashing tickets. My NFL betting has gotten off to a great start as I finished in the green once again. Before I drop this round of picks, let's recap last week’s results. Atlanta Falcons @ New York Giants: What an ugly game. Despite both these teams putting up a decent amount of points the week prior, they couldn't get anything going offensively. This ticket would have had a better chance to cash if there weren't so many injuries during the game. Both Slayton and Shepard left with hamstrings issues and the Giants were left with nobody to catch the ball. Just a bummer of a game. So let’s chalk this up to bad luck and press on. New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots: This game went exactly how I expected. In fact, I almost predicted the exact score but missed it by just 2 points. The Saints offense was too much for Jones and the Patriots to keep up with. They were in control the entire game, efficiently pushing the ball down the field on every drive. Jones attempted an eye-popping 51 passes and threw three picks. This game was too easy.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Los Angeles Rams: Boy, did I enjoy watching Brady get sacked three times Sunday. This game was exactly as advertised with both quarterbacks throwing for a combined 750 yards. These teams were evenly matched, but the Rams were just that much better. The Rams are the real deal. If you’re holding a Rams Super Bowl future, then things are looking good.

Smart Money NFL Week 4 Picks For 10/3/2021

I’m going to call an audible. This week I’m sticking to what I know best – the spread and moneyline. I won't be choosing a total to bet on. I haven’t had much success with betting it and would like to get a sweep like Mike Barner did with his NFL Props last week. So let’s get into them, shall we?

Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears: Chicago -3 (+100)

Lions and the Bears, oh my. I guess you could say this is not the most anticipated game of the week. The winless Detroit Lions take on the lifeless Chicago Bears. However, this matchup is interesting. The Lions have yet to win a game but haven’t been too bad offensively. The problem lies with that putrid defense. They’re straight up a liability for the team. They are 28th in the red zone and are almost dead last in total points given up. Meanwhile, the Bears are the polar opposite. Their defense has been good and ranks second in sacks. Their offense, however, is another story. Justin Fields has looked horrible, and he might not even start this week. He has completed just 40% of his passes and is averaging less than four yards per attempt.  Despite the slow start for fields, I’m laying the points with Chicago. It’s possible this is the coming-out game for Fields and I don’t want to miss it. I think we see Nagy scheme more bootlegs and designed runs for the rookie, allowing him to develop some type of rhythm. I also think Montgomery is going to have a huge bounce-back game. The Detroit Lions are getting beaten up on the ground, and Montgomery should feast here to lead the Chicago Bears to a win. Final Score: 24-17, Bears. Caesars Sportsbook RF5000 - 936x114

Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers: Seattle ML (+115)

This is certainly one of the tougher games to handicap. But I’m stubborn, and I like a good challenge. The Seahawks are on the road against the 49ers and should make for a great game. Seattle is looking to bounce back after losing the past two weeks while the 49ers are coming off the first loss of the season. So it’s safe to say both teams are hungry for a win in this divisional matchup. Do you smell that? That’s chef Wilson in the kitchen, COOKING again. We’re going to see vintage Russ this week against the 49ers. This Seattle team is loaded with talent and is going to pop off. Despite being 1-2, Russ has been playing well. He has zero interceptions on the year and sits with a QB rating of 133. I’m also still not sold on Jimmy Garoppolo and this team. The defense is decent, but they don’t force turnovers and have a horrible red-zone defense. Final Score: 31-27, Seahawks.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers: Las Vegas +3 (-105)

There’s a reason why I like seeing the Raiders win football games. After each game, I can go on Twitter and watch Frank Caliendo do a hilarious impersonation of Jon Gruden. But anyway, let’s get to why I like the Raiders in this spot. This is basically a home game for them. This game should be a pick’em at the least. I’m not going to lie, I was down on Carr and this team before the season started. But man, they sure are fun to watch. This is a solid team overall. They rank number one in total passing yards, they barely turn the ball over, and they constantly keep the chains moving. Their defense is also sneakily good this year. As long as Carr keeps peppering Waller with targets – they should be able to keep up with this Chargers offense. It’s not that I don’t like the Chargers; I just think the Raiders coming back “home” are going to show up and keep this game close. So let’s back Chucky and watch the money flow in. Final Score: 38-35, Raiders. That’s it for this week's picks. If you can’t get enough or want more, then follow me on Twitter at @ajgiii07.
