After going 2-1 with my player prop picks in Week 5, my season record sits at 11-4. Week 6 brings the first round of teams on a bye, so we’ll have fewer options to choose from. With that being said, here are three player props that could prove to be profitable for Week 6. All odds were obtained from BetMGM and TwinSpires.

Top Week 6 NFL Player Props For 10/17/2021

Kansas City Chiefs @ Washington Football Team: Patrick Mahomes Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (-120)

In an ugly loss to the Bills in Week 5, Mahomes only threw two touchdown passes compared to his two interceptions. He had thrown at least three touchdown passes in each of his first four games, so it likely was just a tough day at the office against a Bills defense that has allowed only five passing touchdowns all season. This is a great spot for him to bounce back against Washington, who are tied for the second-most passing touchdowns allowed (14) in the league. Caesars Sportsbook RF5000 - 936x114

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins: James Robinson Over 72.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

Urban Meyer’s stint as the Jaguars’ coach has not gone well. He has made some head-scratching decisions, both on and off the field. One of them was to give Carlos Hyde work over Robinson in the early going. That was despite Robinson rushing for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns last season. Luckily, he has somewhat come to his senses. Robinson has had at least 15 carries in three straight games, which helped him to record at least 78 rushing yards in each contest. The Dolphins have allowed the ninth-most rushing yards per game in the league, so as long as Robinson doesn’t inexplicably get benched again, he could have a big performance.

Washington Football Team vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Taylor Heinicke Over 267.5 Passing Yards (-115)

Filling in for Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip), Heinicke has thrown for at least 290 yards in two of the last four games. He has significant potential to hit the over here for a couple of reasons. First, with how bad Washington’s defense has played, he’ll likely need to throw a lot to keep up with Mahomes. Second, the Chiefs have allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game in the league.
