Anthony’s NHL Record: 16-10

After that unreal run the last few weeks, it looks like variance has finally caught up to me. We finished last week with a disgusting, pitiful 1-3 effort. I don’t like this feeling. This is what Jake Paul's parents must feel like; disappointed. Let’s take a look at what the hell happened in these games. The Rangers and Devils game was just a snooze fest. The Rangers were the better offensive team but couldn’t make up for the goose egg the Devils dropped on us. The Devils couldn’t get anything going despite having the only two power plays of the night. After checking the score and seeing it was 1-0 heading into the third period – I wasn’t too optimistic about hitting this one. What’s gotten into the Flames? They’re winning shootouts in overtime now? Unreal. They must have been feeling themselves coming into this game because they were keeping pace with the Leafs all game. Let's chalk this loss up as a fluke and carry on. I correctly predicted the Sabres covering the puck line and the bonus pick was on its way to hitting. That was until the Bruins realized who they were playing and won in a shootout. Listen, I typically only choose to bet on plus odds, and considering I’m still sitting on a 16-10 record – I can't be too upset. Let’s get back on track with these NHL picks for Thursday's slate.

Smart Money NHL Picks For 4/22/2021

Boston Bruins @ Buffalo Sabres: Bruins Puck Line -1.5 (-125)

I hate using this term but this should be a lock. The Bruins are on a nice winning streak the last five games, and it’s going to continue tonight. I’m staying away from that moneyline though; it’s just too steep at -305. I'm confident the Bruins win this game by at least two goals, so I am more than happy to get their puck line at -115. In the last five games, the Bruins have won by more than two goals four times. The Bruins are top five in shots per game and should keep the heat on against this sub-par Sabres team. The Sabres are top five in allowed goals per game and the Bruins should have no problems slapping the puck into the net all night. William Hill RF500 - 728x90

Washington Capitals @ New York Islanders: Capitals Team Total Over 2.5 Total Goals (-135)

I'm back at it again, testing my luck against this New York Islanders team, this time in a matchup with the Washington Capitals. I love this team total for the Capitals. They have hit the over every single game the last five they’ve played. More importantly, they've scored at least three goals in four out of the last five games. The Capitals rank second in average goals per game at 3.5 and shouldn’t have a problem keeping this streak alive against the Islanders. These two teams have played each other twice this month, and in one of those games, they scored a combined 12 goals. If you are wondering why I don’t just take the total at 5.5, the Islanders are one of the most inconsistent scoring teams and I don’t trust them. This is the safer play in my mind. This is the week we turn shit back around. I’m only betting these two plays until I get back to my winning ways. It’s okay though – I have a good feeling about both of these.
